Here's a new paper based project for a rainy weekend this Autumn, something I'd been meaning to try out for quite a long time but somehow never got round to. The set contains some rules by Andy Callan of Never Mind the Billhooks fame, but I quite fancy having a go with Neil Thomas' One Hour Wargame rules, as they are perfect for this sort of thing. It's in the post at the moment but I'll have a closer look when it arrives in a few days.
Agree with your intended approach of trying with One Hour Wargames first. I ended up with three armies taking that approach: Saxon/Norman, War of the Spanish Succession, and Jacobite.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple Peter Dennis books too, but I can't seem to make myself cut them up. I should just copy them onto cardstock and do it that way.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about using some figure from the Junior General site (https://juniorgeneral.org/) or maybe splurging for some of the Peter Dennis flats done by WoFun Games (https://wofun-games.com/). Either of which would be better than having to paint up some new figures.
