Zombies Solo

I played a solo game of Zombies to learn the rules yesterday and had a great time, with one player being wiped out but making it to the helipad at the second attempt. The rules worked really well and were quick to pick up, with the event cards adding some gameplay value and throwing a spanner in the works for both survivors at different points in the game. I really enjoyed this first play test so will be setting up some further games to try out more of the optional rules.

Zombies!!!

I'm on holiday for the Easter break so thought I'd finally get round to running a few games of Zombies!!!, which I found in a cupboard at the place where we are staying (I must have left it here last time by accident). I think it will be a lot of fun and should keep the teenagers happy while the weather socks in, as it will almost certainly do over the next few days!

Half Term Holidays

It's the half term break so we're off on holiday! I'll be packing some games to play, in case the weather socks in and to occupy the evenings, including X Wing which I haven't played for ages and which the kids really enjoy. I'm also planning to bring along Zombies! which I got back in November last year but haven't had time to play yet. As usual I'm going to pack a couple of 'print and play' games, as well as my copy of Trapdoor, so I can set up some old fashioned, dungeon crawl roleplaying with the kids. I'm sure I'll only scratch the surface of this lot but it will be good to get a few games in for a change!

Zombies!!!

I was down in Southampton this afternoon for an interview so popped into Forbidden Planet on the way back to the railway station. I hadn't been in there for years so was pleased to find a fair selection of games including what I was looking for, some more X Wing models. I bought a second B Wing to add to my collection but also splashed out on a copy of Zombies!!! as it's a classic Beer and Pretzels game but one that I haven't actually played before, believe it or not.
